I've been getting sick on and off again during this semester at college. Usually when I get ill my body builds immunity and I won't get sick again until the following year. Its something to do with my throat. My tongue feels swollen and my throat is so small I can barely swallow anything. I know I need to go to the doctor but my retired father took us off health insurance a year ago since it was getting too expensive. He's supposed to be getting on disability but as you all know that takes awhile and I'm sick now. Do I have anymore options guys?

So ever since I saw te first transformers movie I have loved the look of the camaro, and after 7 years I'm deciding if I should get one as my first car. Im a major gear head, especially muscle cars. So I've been looking at some 2010 models that are around 14-16 grand. I make on average of 350-400 dollars every two weeks at my job, and I have enough to put around 5000$ down, now more or less ill be paying some where around 180-230$ a month. My car was parked on a busy street in icy conditions and when I returned to it, it had clearly been hit but no one left a note, etc. It will probably be very expensive to fix...although it is only cosmetic damage and it isn't horrible. At the moment I have decided to hold off on purchasing a new vehicle. My previous car was a lease, the lease expired and at the moment I do not have a car in my name. My independent insurance agent is telling me that if I do not keep up a policy at even a low rate, when I do get a car (whenever that might be) and then get a new policy I would be subject to a surcharge. For this reason we are doing something very basic to keep a policy in place. This seems really strange to me and raises a question why do I have to have car insurance if I do not have a car? Why should I get a surcharge when I do get a car at a later date? This almost seems like once you're in the auto insurance system, you cannot get out without penalties. Seems a lot like the insurance industry is trying to get everyone to pay into the system with or without a car. And if that's the case this sounds awfully like the auto insurance industry has already set precedent on the health insurance industry. What am I missing?

Background: My wife left me and is filing for divorce. She took her car which is a marital asset that both of us own. She has since left the state to move in with a friend and I cannot get a hold of her as she will not return my calls. Update: Our current auto coverage is set to expire on 10/17. I have taken out coverage on myself through a different company, set to start on the 17th. As of the 17th she will be uninsured unless she takes out her own policy. Is is my responsibility to make sure she is still insured on my policy? She won't return my calls or the calls that my new agent has left for her so my hands are tied. I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything that may bite me later. I also don't want to have to foot the bill for her portion of the insurance given that she doesn't live with me anymore and doesn't even live in the same state.
